Pellicano and Perri Projects have commenced construction at Stanley House which will form part of southside Brisbane’s most exciting lifestyle destination, South City Square.
Stanley House, will be made up of 170 apartments to be managed under a build-to-rent (BTR) model and is slated as the largest BTR project currently under construction in Queensland.
The build-to-rent sector is said to be a key factor in addressing Australia’s affordable housing crisis, largely due to BTR landlords’ ability to offer flexible leasing options.
Residents will become Pellicano Living members and access hotel-level service and amenity including parcel management, dry cleaning, apartment cleaning, handyman services, bike rentals, share cars and regular community events.
“ Stanley House will be Pellicano’s first build-to-rent project in Queensland, Our first in Victoria was Clayton House which we delivered in the ‘70s and still own and manage to this day,” said Pellicano Managing Director, Nando Pellicano.
“ Pellicano Living currently manages over 600 apartments across 7 locations with over 900 members and with each project, we’re able to refine our Pellicano Living offering. In managing our current members, we’re able to do real-time research into what services and amenity will improve the lives of our future Stanley House residents.”
The commencement at Stanley House comes as construction of a number of new retail and entertainment spaces pushes ahead, with a slew of national and speciality retailers set to join the South City Square precinct in 2022.
Joining the precinct will be a full-line Woolworths, BWS, Priceline and Reading Cinemas with Hyatt Place Hotel to follow in 2023.
Also to come is a cornerstone of the precinct’s retail offering – The Market Hall. Modelled on the artisan markets of Europe, The Market Hall will feature a deli, grocer, butcher, baker and florist with announcements around operators still to come.
This latest instalment of retail will become the heart of the precinct and is set to include a central square over an acre in space, designed by a team of world-class designers and landscape architects, including US-based Oculus.
On the continued expansion of the precinct, Perri Projects Managing Director, David Scalzo said:
“ Both Perri Projects and Pellicano are committed to the regeneration of Woolloongabba as a place for the people of Brisbane to live, shop, work and enjoy.
“ Our completed stages of South City Square have already brought Woolloogabba to life and Stanley House and our new retail offerings will tie the whole precinct together.”
Stages 4 and 5 of South City Square will reach completion in Q1 of 2022.
